Lady of Shanghai, and Shanghai Express were film greats of the 1930's and 1940's, with some of our favorite leading ladies such as Rita Hayworth, Marlene Dietrich, and Chinese pre-code princess Anna May Wong. Seductive femme fetales and murder mysteries were a common theme among the film noir era of Old Hollywood. Oriental influence was seen in both film and fashion of the 1940's in beautiful forms, blending Asian and Art Deco. Inspired by Anna May Wong's fancy fans, this coiffure comb came to be.
